History

Caesars Virginia was developed under a development agreement with the City of Danville approved by voters via referendum in November 2020 with 69% in favor. Construction by Marnell Companies began in August 2022, and a temporary casino known as the Danville Casino opened on May 15, 2023. The permanent resort opened on December 17, 2024, transforming the historic Schoolfield Mill district into a full-service integrated resort. The project preserved three iconic smokestacks from the original Dan River Mills finishing plant as part of its design.

The World Series of Poker poker room has 25 tables and hosts regular tournaments and WSOP Circuit events. The hotel offers 320 rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, a full-service spa, outdoor pool, and over 12 restaurants and bars ranging from quick-service to fine dining. The Pantheon event spaces provide modern meeting and convention facilities for groups, weddings, and corporate events.

Ownership and Leadership

Caesars Virginia is jointly owned by Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians through EBCI Holdings. Corporate oversight comes from Caesars Entertainment's executive team, with no separate property-level CEO or president publicly identified. The property is managed by a General Manager or Vice President of Operations under the corporate structure.
