DFI Inc. (Diamond Flower Inc.) is a Taiwanese industrial computer company founded on July 14, 1981, by Y.C. Lu. Headquartered in New Taipei City, Taiwan, DFI went public on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE: 2397) in 2000 and became a subsidiary of Qisda Corporation (part of the BenQ Group) in late 2017. The company designs, develops, manufactures, and sells high-performance industrial motherboards, system-on-modules (SOMs), embedded systems, industrial displays, touch panel PCs, and ruggedized computing platforms. DFI also provides ODM/OEM services and design-in support for custom embedded solutions. Its products are deployed across demanding verticals including factory automation, medical diagnostics and imaging, gaming and lottery, transportation (in-vehicle systems), smart energy, defense, and intelligent retail. Detailed Review
DFI Inc. began life as an electronics components supplier and exporter, but pivoted to motherboard manufacturing in the early 1990s after securing a patent license agreement with Intel Corporation in 1990. Throughout the late 1990s, DFI earned a Top 10 Motherboard Manufacturer award from CRN Magazine for three consecutive years (1997–1999) and received Intel Global Demo Board manufacturer awards in 1998 and 1999. The company gained notoriety in the enthusiast PC market with its LanParty series of overclocking motherboards, which won several editorial awards in the early 2000s. However, DFI made a strategic shift in 2002 toward embedded industrial applications through its ACP (Application Control Platform) business line, targeting slot machines, POS systems, security, and similar verticals. By 2005, industrial computing accounted for more than 50% of revenue, and the company formally exited the consumer motherboard market in 2011 to focus exclusively on embedded and industrial solutions.

DFI continues to invest in next-generation technologies. In March 2026, the company showcased partner-integrated Edge AI solutions at Embedded World 2026.
