Kansas Crossing Casino

History

Kansas Crossing Casino + Hotel was originally proposed by billionaire Phil Ruffin and secured the fourth and final destination casino license awarded by Kansas under its expanded gambling law. Construction began on May 5, 2016, on the site of a former car dealership, and the casino officially opened to the public on March 31, 2017. It operates under the oversight of the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission (KRGC).

Ownership & Business Model

The casino is owned by a partnership of Equity Ventures, JNB Gaming, and Laham Development. The business model centers on generating revenue through casino gaming (slots and table games), sports betting via the Caesars Sportsbook, hotel accommodations, dining, and entertainment events. The property markets itself as "Pittsburg’s premier destination for dining, gaming + entertainment" and as "the region’s most progressive gaming experience."

The casino floor houses over 540 slot machines featuring the newest titles and progressive jackpots. There are 16 live table games, including blackjack, roulette, and the area’s only Vegas-style live craps. A full Caesars Sportsbook offers both a retail location and a mobile sports wagering platform for pre-match and in-play betting.

The attached Hampton Inn & Suites provides 123 rooms for overnight guests. On-site dining options are available, and the entertainment complex hosts live music, comedy, and special events. The loyalty program, Main Event Fun Card, rewards frequent players with promotions and perks.

Kansas Crossing has established three major community partnerships valued at over $4.5 million over 10 years, focusing on workforce development. A key partnership with Pittsburg State University provides $50,000 annually for co-marketing cultural and other initiatives.
