History and Rebranding

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas occupies the former Hard Rock Hotel & Casino site, a Paradise Road resort that first opened in 1995 and became one of the Las Vegas Valley’s best-known off-Strip properties. JC Hospitality, a Las Vegas development company, acquired the property in 2018 and announced plans to turn it into a flagship Virgin Hotels resort. The Hard Rock closed in early 2020, and an extensive renovation costing more than $200 million prepared the property for a January 15, 2021 reopening as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The project paired Virgin Hotels’ lifestyle hospitality concept with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment’s casino management expertise.

Ownership and Management

The property is owned by JC Hospitality and operates under the Virgin Hotels Collection brand, the hotel arm of the Virgin Group.
