Casino Del Sol has revealed interior details of its new Tucson property Vahi Taa’am, featuring a large mural by Joe Pagac and artwork by Marcelino C. Flores III, ahead of its November 15 grand opening. The venue is expected to create 500 jobs.
Casino Del Sol has released a preview of its upcoming Tucson venue, Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taa’am, which is set to officially open its doors on November 15. The centerpiece of the new location is a 24,000-square-foot mural painted by Tucson artist Joe Pagac across the interior dome ceiling. The artwork portrays an Arizona desert sky and is paired with programmable lighting that shifts from midday brightness to sunset hues.
“Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create an unforgettable experience, and this is just the beginning,” officials stated.
The property will also display Aniam Yo’orine, a work by Yaqui painter Marcelino C. Flores III of the Old Pascua Community. Translating to “Respect the Worlds” in the Yoeme language, the piece draws on Pascua Yaqui oral tradition and the five worlds central to Yoeme spiritual beliefs.
The name Vahi Taa’am — pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm — means “Three Suns” in Yoeme. According to officials, the moniker helps differentiate this new venue from the flagship Casino Del Sol located on Valencia Road.
Situated at 1055 W. Grant Road, the new casino is anticipated to generate 500 jobs in the region.
