FEJAR and ESG iGaming Forge Alliance to Elevate Player Protection Standards

2026-07-21

FEJAR and ESG iGaming have announced a strategic partnership to advance safer gambling by combining FEJAR's addiction support experience with ESG iGaming's global ESG framework, focusing on the Social pillar of sustainability and collaboration among industry stakeholders.

FEJAR, the Spanish federation for gambling addiction rehabilitation, and ESG iGaming, an Austria-based non-profit focused on sustainability standards, have entered a strategic partnership. The collaboration is designed to strengthen safer gambling measures and advance meaningful player-protection initiatives across the global gaming sector.

Both organizations recognise that gambling-related harm persists despite technological and regulatory progress, underscoring that effective protection extends beyond compliance. The partnership will prioritise education, transparent policies, and evidence-based prevention, drawing on FEJAR’s on-the-ground expertise with affected individuals and ESG iGaming’s international framework for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) best practices.

A central pillar of the agreement is the “Social” aspect of ESG, which the partners view as a key opportunity for the industry to show tangible impact. By linking industry standards to the insights of frontline support organisations, they aim to build a gaming ecosystem where social responsibility is a core business component rather than a regulatory checkbox.

The alliance will promote awareness of gambling-related harm, share knowledge among stakeholders, and advocate for stronger integration of player protection into ESG discussions. Both entities believe that sustainable business growth depends on safeguarding individuals and families, and that this approach ultimately fosters greater trust and long-term resilience for the industry.
