Merkur Group brought together 43 compliance staff from six countries for a two-day workshop at Benkhausen Castle, focusing on cybersecurity, risk management, and AI under the theme 'Perspectives,' with a strong emphasis on international collaboration and process improvement.

The Merkur Group convened 43 compliance employees from six countries for a two-day internal workshop at Benkhausen Castle, the group's in-house training center, from June 30 to July 1. Staff traveled from Germany, Spain, England, Malta, the United States, and Australia to attend the event, which was held under the theme “Perspectives.”

The program featured expert presentations on global and digital topics such as cybersecurity, risk management, and artificial intelligence, alongside a panel discussion with representatives from various Merkur Group companies and a digital quiz. The workshop aimed to support the exchange of operational experience, foster global networking, and drive the further development of compliance processes across the group’s international businesses.

An evening session provided a relaxed setting for informal exchanges, allowing participants to continue discussions, build new connections, and strengthen team spirit across company and national boundaries. Ludwig Beckmann, chief compliance officer of the Merkur Group, stated: “The ideas and diverse perspectives gained during the workshop will now be incorporated into our day-to-day work and help us to continuously improve collaboration and existing processes.”

During the concluding feedback session, the term “collaboration” was frequently cited, underscoring the high value participants placed on working closely together within the international compliance network. The insights gathered are expected to feed into ongoing process improvements and closer coordination across the group.
