Portugal Online Gambling GGR Climbs 14.4% in Q2 2026

Portugal’s regulated online gambling market took in an estimated €328.3m ($379.5m) in gross gaming revenue during Q2 2026, up 14.4% year-on-year. The SRIJ’s latest figure builds on the roughly €287m recorded in Q2 2025, a total that had itself increased 9.6% from Q2 2024.

Quarterly growth accelerated slightly from the start of the year, when online GGR rose 13.7% year-on-year to €323.7m. That leaves the regulated online market at approximately €652m across the first half of 2026, following a record €337.6m in Q4 2025. For the whole of 2025, online revenue was around €1.21bn.

Licensing and operator base

Portugal operates its online market under the Regime Jurídico dos Jogos e Apostas Online, with SRIJ approval required before operators can launch. The available licences cover fixed-odds sports betting, casino games and bingo. The regulator currently lists 19 licensed brands, including Betclic, Betano, Bwin, Pokerstars and 888, as well as newer entrants Retabet and Vincino.

Alongside the revenue growth, the regulator has been consulting on proposed changes to rules for online gaming machines and fixed-odds sports betting. The consultation was extended to April after a request from the Portuguese trade association APAJO.

Land-based performance

Portugal’s land-based segment also strengthened in Q2. Casino and gaming machine gross revenue rose 6% year-on-year, up from the 0.8% growth rate seen in Q1. Bingo hall revenue dipped by 0.1%.

Earlier SRIJ data for Q1 showed online casino revenue growing 20.3% year-on-year and sports betting revenue up 4%, while self-excluded online accounts climbed 23.1% to more than 380,000.
