RDB suspends Forzza Gaming Rwanda for license violations

Rwanda's gambling regulator, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), has issued an immediate suspension order against Forzza Gaming Rwanda following the detection of repeated regulatory breaches. The operator, officially registered as Baron Sports Gaming Ltd and trading under the Forzza name, was found to have been offering casino-style games that fall well beyond the scope of its sports betting license.

The RDB has instructed the company to cease all public-facing gaming activity until further notice and to remove all advertising and promotional materials. In addition, the board has warned the Rwandan public to avoid participating in any games or offers from the operator during the suspension period.

The regulator reiterated that licensed operators must strictly adhere to the terms and conditions of their licenses, warning that unauthorized activities could lead to sanctions ranging from temporary suspension to full license revocation. Forzza also faces the possibility of additional enforcement measures if it is found to be continuing operations in any form while the suspension remains in place.

The action comes shortly after the RDB resumed issuing gambling licenses following a one-year pause. In July, the board granted licenses to three foreign betting companies: Betway, ElephantBet, and ForteBet. Around the same time, the regulator introduced the Rwanda Gambling Policy (RGP), a framework designed to tighten oversight of gaming operators while ensuring the industry generates meaningful economic returns.

This enforcement move signals the RDB's determination to hold operators accountable under its regulations, with the stated priority of safeguarding the interests of Rwandan bettors.
