Slotegrator Adds Progressive Web App Support to Casino Builder Platform

Slotegrator has integrated a Progressive Web Application (PWA) capability into its Casino Builder product, enabling online casino operators to deliver an app-like mobile experience without going through Apple’s App Store or Google Play.

The move directly tackles common hurdles in iGaming app distribution, such as strict marketplace regulations, prolonged approval processes, geographical limitations, and the constant threat of being delisted. With the PWA feature, players can install a casino app straight from their mobile browser and access it from their home screen, bypassing traditional app stores entirely.

Olga Ivanchik, Slotegrator’s COO, noted the centrality of mobile for user acquisition and retention, but acknowledged the difficulty of distributing native apps in the sector. “Our new PWA feature gives operators an alternative that will be familiar to their players, while eliminating the complications related to conventional app stores,” she said. She added that operators “can launch quickly, retain full control over updates, and ensure a perfect mobile gaming experience for any market.”

Additional functionality is scheduled for release within the next two months. Operators will be able to control when the PWA installation prompt appears—for instance, after a player’s first deposit—and set how often the offer is displayed as part of retention campaigns.

The PWA also includes customizable installation widgets, which can appear as a top bar or top banner. Operators can brand these elements with logos, tailored messages, and background colors, and target the prompts by device type (desktop, mobile, Android, iOS).

Once players install the PWA, operators can link it to push notification services to re-engage users even when the app is not open. Furthermore, the feature supports mirror domains: if an operator changes its domain due to licensing or regulatory shifts, players who already installed the PWA can continue using it without needing to reinstall.

Unlike native mobile apps, PWAs do not require approval from Apple or Google, allowing immediate deployment of updates without market delays or the risk of removal.
