Turning Stone Resort Casino has opened The Crescent luxury hotel and Salt fine-dining restaurant as the first phase of its $400 million Evolution project, aiming to position the property as New York's premier meetings and conventions destination.
The Turning Stone Resort Casino in New York has unveiled the first phase of its $400 million Turning Stone Evolution project, introducing a 258-room luxury hotel named The Crescent and a fine-dining establishment called Salt. This initial rollout marks a significant upgrade to the property's hospitality offerings as it positions itself for a larger convention and meetings market.
The Crescent adds a fourth hotel to the resort’s portfolio, featuring 258 guest rooms with contemporary interiors and premium amenities. Guests can access the resort’s full range of facilities—including spas, dining venues, entertainment spaces, golf courses, and gaming areas—directly from the new hotel.
Within The Crescent, the resort has opened several additional services: The Pantry, a grab-and-go café; Oneida Sky, a retail outlet showcasing products from Oneida Indian Nation artisans; and a Rome Health Convenient Care clinic providing on-site medical services for both visitors and staff.
Salt operates on the seventh floor of The Crescent, offering both indoor and outdoor dining with panoramic views of the Mohawk Valley. The restaurant includes four private dining rooms suited for group events. It was developed in partnership with restaurateur Elizabeth Blau and focuses on seafood and premium cuts of meat. Menu highlights include East Coast oysters, caviar service, hand-cut steaks, and seafood dishes prepared with ingredients such as the Nation’s own Wáhta Maple Syrup.
The opening aligns with Turning Stone’s broader strategy to become New York’s largest destination for meetings and conventions, a goal that Ray Halbritter, Oneida Indian Nation Representative and CEO of Turning Stone Enterprises, said demanded an elevation of the entire guest experience. He noted that the new hotel and restaurant demonstrate a commitment to competing with top-tier hospitality destinations globally.
