Antonis M. Vartholomeos

Antonis M. Vartholomeos is a seasoned executive with over three decades of leadership experience across banking, investment, and corporate transformation. He has held top leadership roles, including CEO positions, at some of Greece’s most prominent corporations and financial institutions, consistently delivering strategic growth, operational excellence, and profitability in complex environments.

As CEO of Pancreta Bank from 2020 to 2024, Antonis led the transformation of the bank from a cooperative into a full-scale commercial bank with nationwide prominence. He directed the mergers and acquisitions of HSBC Greece, the Cooperative Bank of Central Macedonia, and Attica Bank, achieving record net profits of €95 million. His leadership focused on operational restructuring, liquidity growth, and digital banking integration, positioning Pancreta as a key player in Greece’s banking sector.

At Attica Bank from 2019 to 2020, Antonis served as Deputy CEO and Executive Board Member, leading Retail Banking, Treasury, Digital Banking, and IT functions. He launched automation initiatives, enhanced service delivery, and streamlined operational workflows. As Chairman of Attica Bancassurance Agency, he spearheaded new insurance products and revenue diversification, laying the groundwork for the bank’s successful merger with Pancreta.

Earlier, at EYDAP S.A., he served as Chairman and CEO from 2013 to 2015, executing a large-scale reorganization of Greece’s largest water and wastewater company. His strategic reforms increased cash reserves to over €200 million while maintaining a zero-debt balance sheet. Between 2011 and 2013, he was a Board Member of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund, contributing to Greece’s landmark privatization program involving OPAP, Piraeus Port, and Hellinikon Airport. He also held leadership roles at Pegasus Securities, Euroholdings Capital & Investment Corp., and Egnatia Bank, where he played a key role in the reverse merger with the Bank of Central Greece and the bank’s listing on the Athens Stock Exchange.

Currently, Antonis serves as President of the Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP), the Greek gambling regulator, where he oversees the regulatory framework for the country’s iGaming and gambling industry.
