Barrister Ayodele Adekanmbi is a blind lawyer and disability rights advocate born near Ibadan, Oyo State. He earned a First Class degree in Law from the University of Edinburgh and later founded both the Disability Empowerment Foundation and a law firm focused on legal services for persons with disabilities.
In 2020 he became the first Special Adviser and Executive Assistant to a state governor in Nigeria, serving Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on matters relating to people with disabilities. He was subsequently appointed the pioneer Director‑General of the Oyo State Agency for Persons with Disabilities and, in a separate appointment, named a Director of the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board. He also chairs the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.
Through his advocacy and public service, Adekanmbi has worked to expand opportunities for persons with disabilities in Nigeria, blending legal expertise with policy roles. His current positions at the gaming board and disability agency reflect a dual focus on regulatory oversight and inclusive governance.
