Camille Pepos

Camille Pepos is a fintech regulatory professional based in Malta, currently serving as Fintech Advisor at the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). They have over six years of experience at the MFSA, where they have been instrumental in shaping the supervision of crypto-assets and payments, with direct relevance to the iGaming industry through oversight of e-money institutions and payment services.

Pepos joined the MFSA in 2020 as Deputy Head within the newly created FinTech Supervision function. In this role, they helped build and scale a multidisciplinary team from fewer than 10 to almost 40 professionals, focusing on the supervision of Virtual Financial Assets under Malta’s pioneering VFA framework. They represented the MFSA at international conferences and regulatory forums, including the MiCA Conference and Money20/20.

In 2023, Pepos took on additional responsibility for re-energising and strengthening supervision of the payments sector, overseeing e-money institutions and payment services. They were subsequently promoted to Head of FinTech Supervision, continuing to drive regulatory innovation and speaking widely on crypto regulation (MiCA), payments, and fintech policy.

In March 2025, Pepos stepped down from the Head role to serve as Fintech Advisor, supporting a leadership transition during a six-month gardening period. Prior to joining MFSA, they were based in Dubai working in fintech and innovation roles, though specific details are not publicly confirmed. They remain a strong advocate for regulatory innovation and a trusted voice in the European fintech ecosystem.
