Cynthia Kiser Murphey is a Nevada attorney and public gaming regulator who currently serves as chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the state agency that licenses, regulates, and enforces compliance in Nevada's casino and gaming industry. She was appointed to the board by Governor Joe Lombardo in 2023 and was elevated to chair in 2024.
In her current role, Murphey presides over board determinations on gaming licenses, suitability findings, disciplinary actions, fines, and regulatory policy. Her tenure on the board has covered the full range of Nevada gaming regulation, including casino licensing, sports betting compliance, and new gaming-technology matters.
Before joining the NGCB, Murphey worked in private practice in Nevada as a gaming and regulatory lawyer, advising clients in the casino and gaming-supplier sector. She also has a background in state legal service.
