U.S. Representative (FL-09) / Member, Congressional Gaming Caucus
Darren Soto is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Florida's 9th congressional district since January 2017. He was first elected in November 2016.
Within the House, he is a member of the bipartisan Congressional Gaming Caucus, which addresses economic and employment issues affecting the gaming industry. He has also co-sponsored the FAIR BET Act, a bill seeking to allow taxpayers to deduct gambling losses above the current cap.
Prior to his congressional service, Soto served in the Florida House of Representatives for District 49 from 2010 to 2012. His involvement in the iGaming and gambling sector stems directly from his caucus membership and legislative work on gambling-related policies.
