Dina Powell McCormick

Dina Powell McCormick (born Dina Habib, June 12, 1973) is an Egyptian-American financial executive, philanthropist, and former government official who serves as President and Vice Chairman of Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. She arrived in the United States from Cairo as a child and earned a BA from the University of Texas at Austin. She spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in senior leadership roles, including partner, member of the firm’s Management Committee, and Global Head of Sovereign Business. She also led Goldman Sachs’ inclusive growth initiatives such as 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses, and One Million Black Women.

In public service, Powell McCormick served as Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy under President Donald Trump from 2017 to 2018 and earlier as Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs and Senior White House Advisor under President George W. Bush. After leaving Goldman Sachs in 2023, she became Vice Chair, President, and Head of Global Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners. In April 2025 she joined Meta’s board of directors, resigning in December 2025 to become President and Vice Chairman of the company in January 2026. She also chairs the Robin Hood Foundation and serves on the boards of the National Geographic Society, Lincoln Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, and the Atlantic Council.
