Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York) is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who has served as the 45th and 47th President of the United States. After earning a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1968, he joined his father’s real estate business, becoming its president in 1971 and renaming it the Trump Organization. He built a global portfolio of skyscrapers, hotels, casinos (including Trump Plaza, Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Marina in Atlantic City) and golf courses.
From 2004 to 2015, he hosted the reality television show The Apprentice. His gambling-industry footprint includes ownership of multiple casinos and ongoing commentary on gambling regulation and prediction markets. Trump was elected president in 2016, defeated in 2020, and re-elected in 2024, beginning his second non-consecutive term in January 2025.
