Ellen Whittemore
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Wynn Resorts, Limited
Wynn ResortsEllen Whittemore is a Nevada-based attorney and gaming-industry executive who became Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Wynn Resorts in 2023. In that role she oversees the company’s legal, regulatory and compliance functions for its casino properties and operations.
Before joining Wynn Resorts, Whittemore held senior roles in Nevada gaming regulation. She was appointed to the Nevada Gaming Commission by Governor Brian Sandoval and served as a commissioner from 2015 before being elevated to chair, serving as chair from 2019 until 2023. The Nevada Gaming Commission is the state’s final authority on casino licensing, disciplinary actions and gaming regulatory policy; during her tenure it considered major casino license transfers and consolidation-related transactions, including high-profile Las Vegas property transitions, and continued to regulate Nevada’s expanding sports-betting and casino industry.
Earlier in her career, Whittemore was a partner/shareholder at the Las Vegas law firm Kaempfer Crowell, where her work focused on gaming law, government affairs and administrative law. Her career thus spans both Nevada gaming regulation and casino-industry legal leadership.
