Emanuel Darmanin
CEO of Malta Information Technology Agency
Emanuel Darmanin serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA), the central IT agency of the Maltese government. He was appointed following an internal call for candidates and now oversees the nation's digital transformation agenda, embedding cybersecurity as a core value and promoting data-driven government services.
He frequently represents MITA at European interoperability meetings, iGaming cybersecurity panels (e.g., SiGMA), and local tech events. His career at MITA spans an earlier era of IT, and his lifelong passion for technology has been shaped by leadership training at Henley Business School.
Outside his public-sector duties, Darmanin is active on professional social media and has been recognized with a Best Digital Solution award alongside colleagues in the Malta Public Service.
