Gabriele Gravina

Gabriele Gravina is a prominent Italian football administrator who currently serves as First Vice President of UEFA, a role he assumed in April 2025 after being a UEFA Vice President since 2021. He is best known for his long tenure as President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) from 2018 to 2026, during which Italy won UEFA Euro 2020 but also suffered consecutive failures to qualify for the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups – the latter leading to his resignation in April 2026.

In the iGaming industry, Gravina has been a vocal critic of Italy's 2018 blanket ban on gambling advertising. He has described the ban as "largely ineffective", arguing that it has merely driven betting activity underground and toward unlicensed operators while depriving football clubs of legitimate sponsorship revenue. He has proposed a levy on gambling turnover linked to football betting as a more effective regulatory approach.

Gravina began his football executive career as owner and later president of Serie C club Castel di Sangro, holding those roles from 1984 through 2000. He then served as President of Lega Pro, the governing body for Italy's third-tier professional football, from 2015 to 2018 before being elected FIGC President with 97.2% of the vote in October 2018. He holds a law degree and has been an honorary citizen of Castel di Sangro since 2018.
