Gannon Ken Van Dyke

Master Sergeant, U.S. Army Special Forces

Gannon Ken Van Dyke is an active-duty U.S. Army Special Forces master sergeant who joined the military in 2008 and has served at Fort Bragg (now Fort Liberty) in North Carolina. Outside his military career, he is a real estate investor and property manager in the Fayetteville area, co-owning several properties and a business called Better Homes NC with his wife.

In January 2026, Van Dyke participated in the planning and execution of Operation Absolute Resolve, the U.S. military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. According to a federal indictment unsealed in April 2026, he allegedly used his access to classified information about the operation to place 13 wagers on the prediction market Polymarket, turning a $33,000 investment into over $400,000 in profit.

He was charged by the Southern District of New York with unlawful use of confidential government information, theft of nonpublic government information, commodities fraud, wire fraud, and making an unlawful monetary transaction. Van Dyke pleaded not guilty and was released on a $250,000 unsecured bond. His case has drawn widespread media attention as a rare instance of insider trading on a prediction market using classified national security information.
