Henry Williams was appointed Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board for a six‑year term by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on May 17, 2021. In this capacity he oversees the regulation of all commercial casinos, tribal gaming, and online gambling in Michigan.
Under his leadership, the MGCB has been recognized for its efforts in combating illegal gambling and advancing responsible gaming. In October 2024, Gambling.com Group and the American Gambling Awards honored Williams as the 2024 Regulator of the Year for his transformative impact on the industry.
