Ian Botts

Ian Botts currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Fanatics Betting & Gaming, where he is responsible for overseeing software delivery, information technology, data engineering and analytics, and technical enablement functions for the organization. He joined Fanatics Betting & Gaming in March 2022, drawn by the company's vision of building a comprehensive sports ecosystem that goes beyond just betting, integrating merchandise, collectibles, and live fan experiences.

Before his tenure at Fanatics, Botts was the Senior Vice President of Software Development at FanDuel from 2019 to 2022. In this role, he managed all internal software delivery teams responsible for FanDuel Sportsbook, FanDuel Casino, FanDuel Racing, TVG Racing, and TVG Streaming. His deep experience in technology leadership also includes over eight years at Amazon.

At Amazon, Botts held various significant positions, including Vice President of Technology at Audible, where he led software delivery teams and IT operations from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2016, he was a Principal Manager of Technology at Amazon.com, overseeing Quality Assurance (QA) teams for projects such as Amazon GO, Firefly, and Alexa. His earlier career also includes technical roles at Kiha Software as Director of QA (2009-2011), Quardev Laboratories as QA Manager (2007-2009), and Volt / Microsoft as a Software Test Engineer II / Area Lead (2002-2007). He also held positions at Safeco and TicketMaster NW.

Botts is a recognized industry expert and a frequent speaker at major events, including the SBC Summit Americas. He emphasizes the importance of product quality, uptime, speed, and security in the gaming industry, drawing on his extensive experience to navigate regulatory challenges and leverage technological advancements like AI to enhance customer experiences.
