Ian Buckley is the Group Chief Financial Officer at TGI Sport, a prominent sports infrastructure, technology, and media rights business that plays a significant role in connecting brands and stadiums to sports fans through digital solutions. TGI Sport has established connections within the iGaming and gambling industry, working alongside companies such as Sportradar, Playtech, Scientific Games, DraftKings, and Flutter Entertainment.
Before joining TGI Sport, Buckley served as the CFO at Curve Games in 2021, where he managed financial functions for the company. In 2020, he held the position of Interim CFO at Wildstone, providing financial guidance during a transitional period. From 2015 to 2019, he was the CFO at Global Live, the entertainment events division of Global, successfully leading the funding and acquisition of 15 music festivals and establishing a music venue business.
Prior to his leadership roles in sports and entertainment, Buckley was the Director of Financial Control at Vue Entertainment in 2014, playing a critical role in the acquisition of an Italian cinema group and managing finance team restructuring. He also gained substantial experience at Travelex from 2007 to 2014, where he centralized global financial planning and analysis and chaired the group investment committee.
Buckley began his career as an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche in 1995, specializing in the Middle Market Group and managing audit activities for various clients. He then served as the Group Financial Controller at Belle Property from 2001. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Warwick from 1992 to 1995, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with Second Class Honors, Upper Division (2:1), and later became a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with ICAEW from 1995 to 1999.
