Iztok Počkaj

Iztok Počkaj founded Alfastreet Gaming in 1994 in Sežana, Slovenia. The business originally operated in the furniture sector before pivoting to the research, development, and manufacture of electronic gaming devices. Under his leadership, the company became a leading producer of multi-player automated roulette systems (e.g., the industry-standard R8 eight-seater roulette), single-player terminals (Wiky, SL), and the mechanical horse-racing game Royal Derby.

Počkaj is also an architect and boat enthusiast, which led to the creation of Alfastreet Marine – a boutique boat-building division that designs electric, hybrid, and thermal boats. The group employs 51–200 staff, maintains an in-house R&D and manufacturing plant in Slovenia, and exports to more than 140 countries. Počkaj is regularly quoted in industry media and presents the company at major events such as ICE London, G2E Las Vegas, and G2E Asia.

The company's gaming division began roughly 20 years before a 2014 article, while the original family furniture business started 41 years prior (circa 1973). However, specific dates for Počkaj's personal roles within those earlier family businesses are not publicly documented. His current focus remains on expanding Alfastreet's global footprint in both gaming and marine sectors.
