Jaume Roures

President and co-founder of Mediapro

MediaPro

Jaume Roures Llauradó is a Catalan businessman based in Barcelona and the president and co-founder of Mediapro, the global audiovisual production and sports-rights group. He began his career in journalism and Catalan public media before moving into production and sports rights.

In 1994, Roures co-founded Mediapro with Tatxo Benet. Under his leadership, the company expanded from a local production operation into an international group active in television, film, documentary, live sports production and audiovisual rights. Mediapro became a significant independent producer in Europe and a prominent participant in negotiations for Spanish football broadcasting rights.

Roures was also a central figure in Imagina, the production holding formed through the Mediapro and Globomedia combination, and was associated with the shareholder structure behind the launch of the Spanish television channel LaSexta. He remains widely quoted in Spanish media and sports-business reporting as president of Mediapro.

No gambling-specific regulatory or judicial decisions have been found for him; his relevance to the gambling industry sits on the sports-content and media-rights side of the business, through Mediapro's sports broadcasting and production activities.
