Jihan Wu

Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bitdeer Technologies Group

Jihan Wu is a Chinese-born Singaporean billionaire cryptocurrency entrepreneur. He earned dual degrees in economics and psychology from Peking University in 2009 and began his career as a financial analyst at a private equity firm. After discovering Bitcoin in 2011, he became an early evangelist, translating Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin white paper into Chinese.

In 2013, Wu co-founded Bitmain Technologies with Micree Zhan, which grew into the world’s largest manufacturer of Bitcoin mining ASICs (the Antminer series) and reported $2.5 billion in annual revenue at its peak. He was a key proponent of the Bitcoin Cash hard fork.

Following a corporate dispute, Wu left Bitmain in 2021 and focused on Bitdeer Technologies Group, a blockchain and high-performance computing infrastructure company spun off from Bitmain. He also founded Matrixport, a digital-asset financial-services platform. Bitdeer went public on Nasdaq in April 2023, and Wu was appointed CEO in March 2024 while continuing as Chairman.
