Jontay Porter
Professional Basketball Player for the Seattle Super Hawks (USBL)
Jontay Porter (born November 15, 1999) is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Seattle Super Hawks of the United States Basketball League (USBL). After a standout college career at Missouri, where he was named SEC Sixth Man of the Year and SEC All-Freshman in 2018, he went undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft. Porter then signed a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2020 and spent the following years developing in the NBA G League with the Memphis Hustle, Wisconsin Herd, Motor City Cruise, and Raptors 905.
In December 2023, Porter signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors, marking his return to the NBA. However, his career was derailed in April 2024 when the NBA banned him for life after an investigation found he disclosed confidential health information to bettors, limited his own participation in games for betting purposes, and placed at least 13 bets on NBA games using an associate's account. In July 2024, he pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
After his ban and legal proceedings, Porter made a comeback in February 2026 by signing with the Seattle Super Hawks of the USBL. His case has become a notable example of the intersection between professional sports and gambling regulations, highlighting the severe consequences for violating league integrity policies.
