Lui Che Woo is the founder and chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group, the Hong Kong-listed casino operator behind Galaxy Macau and StarWorld Hotel & Casino. Born in Hong Kong, he began his business career by founding the K. Wah Group in 1955, initially in construction materials, and later expanded into property development and hospitality.
In 2002, his K. Wah Group was awarded one of Macau's first gaming concessions, which led to the creation of Galaxy Entertainment Group. The company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2005 and opened Galaxy Macau on the Cotai Strip in 2011. He has also served as chairman of K. Wah International Holdings, the listed property development arm of the K. Wah Group.
Alongside his corporate career, Lui is known for large philanthropic gifts, including establishing the Lui Che Woo Prize, which recognises contributions to sustainable development and social welfare. As chairman, he continues to oversee Galaxy Entertainment Group's development and broader integrated resort strategy in Macau.
