Lynne Fitzpatrick

President and Chief Financial Officer at CME Group

Lynne Fitzpatrick currently serves as the President and Chief Financial Officer of CME Group, a position she has held since November 2024. In this capacity, she is responsible for overseeing the company's finance functions, human resources, and transformation and execution efforts. She is also deeply involved in CME's strategy, capital allocation, and investor relations. It has been announced that Fitzpatrick will transition to the role of Chief Executive Officer and join the CME Group Board of Directors in March 2027, making her the first woman to lead the 178-year-old derivatives giant.

Fitzpatrick began her career as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and UBS before joining CME Group in 2006. Since then, she has steadily risen through the ranks, holding positions of increasing responsibility within the organization. Her previous roles at CME Group include Senior Managing Director and Deputy Chief Financial Officer (2022-2023), Chief Financial Officer (April 2023 - November 2024), and Managing Director of Corporate Development and Treasurer (2017-2022).

Throughout her tenure, Fitzpatrick has been instrumental in CME Group's strategic initiatives, including a groundbreaking venture in 2025 with sports betting and online gaming company FanDuel. This partnership aims to expand the reach of CME Group's benchmark products to a new audience of millions of potential U.S. retail traders through event-based contracts. She is an alumna of Brown University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in economics, and holds an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. Fitzpatrick has been recognized for her achievements, including being named to Crain's 40 Under 40 and as one of Crain's Chicago Business Notable Leaders in Finance.
