Nick Clegg

Sir Nick Clegg (born 7 January 1967) is a British politician, media executive, and venture capitalist. He served as the Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 2007 to 2015 and as Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2015 in the Cameron coalition. After losing his parliamentary seat in the 2017 general election, he joined Meta (then Facebook) in 2018 as President of Global Affairs, overseeing public policy and communications worldwide. He left Meta in January 2025 and became a General Partner at Hiro Capital, a venture capital firm focused on gaming, esports, and deep tech.

Clegg was educated at Westminster School, Cambridge University (BA), the University of Minnesota, and the College of Europe (MA). He began his career as a journalist for the Financial Times and later worked for European Commissioner Leon Brittan before entering politics as a Member of the European Parliament for the East Midlands (1999–2004). He then served as Member of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam from 2005 to 2017. His current role at Hiro Capital involves investing in AI and gaming startups, with a focus on European innovation.
