Paolo Marcheschi is an Italian politician belonging to the Fratelli d’Italia party. He serves as a Senator in the Italian Republic, where he is Capogruppo FdI on the 7th Standing Committee (Culture), a member of the RAI Parliamentary Vigilance Commission, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and the National Sports Manager for Fratelli d’Italia.
In May 2026, Marcheschi tabled Senate Bill 1902, which proposes a 2% levy on all domestic football bets (both retail and online) to fund youth development, women’s football, and problem-gambling prevention. The bill, assigned to the 7th Committee in drafting capacity on 2 July 2026, is a central piece of Italian football reform and has been widely covered by international gambling media.
