Pascal Chèvremont
President of the Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ)
Pascal Chèvremont is a senior French civil servant and public-sector oversight specialist who was appointed President of France’s gambling regulator, the Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ), in June 2026. He was proposed by Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu and confirmed by the French Parliament, replacing Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin.
Chèvremont spent nearly eight years at the General Economic and Financial Control (CGefi), from 2018 to 2026, where he developed control methodologies, accounting oversight, and risk management for public-interest organisations, including the lottery operator FDJ. Earlier in his career, he served as director general of Brasseurs de France, the national trade association for the brewing industry, and held senior positions within the French Treasury and Ministry of the Economy.
His appointment signals a regulatory focus on reducing excessive gambling and strengthening compliance oversight of licensed operators. Chèvremont has emphasised the need for a balanced approach that protects consumers while allowing a regulated market to operate fairly.
