
Patrick McHenry
Senior Advisor at Lazard and Coalition for Prediction Markets
Patrick Timothy McHenry served ten terms in the U.S. House of Representatives (2005–2025) representing North Carolina’s 10th congressional district. He chaired the House Financial Services Committee (2023–2025) and served as its ranking Republican member (2019–2023). He also acted as Speaker pro tempore of the House for 22 days in October 2023 following the removal of Kevin McCarthy.
After leaving Congress in January 2025, McHenry became a Senior Advisor at Lazard and a Senior Advisor for the Coalition for Prediction Markets, defending the regulatory framework for event‑based contracts before Congress and the public. He is also a Distinguished Fellow at Georgetown University’s Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy.
McHenry’s current work focuses on advocating for prediction markets and the broader iGaming industry, leveraging his deep experience in financial services regulation to shape policy discussions around event contracts and market integrity.
