
Soo Kim
Chairman of Bally's Corporation, the omnichannel gaming and casino company he helped transform through a series of acquisitions including Bally's Atlantic City, the Tropicana Las Vegas, and Chicago casino licenses.
Soo Kim is the chairman of Bally's Corporation, a role he has held since 2019. He is also a founding partner, managing partner, and chief investment officer of Standard General, the investment firm that first became involved with Bally's (then Twin River Worldwide Holdings) in 2016. Kim joined the board as an independent director that same year before taking the helm as chairman.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. He began his career as an analyst at Bankers Trust Company, later became a principal and co-founder of the fixed-income business at Och-Ziff Capital Management, and co-founded Cyrus Capital Partners before joining Standard General in 2007.
Under his leadership, Bally's acquired the naming rights to Bally's Atlantic City in 2020, rebranded the company, and subsequently acquired multiple regional casinos, the Tropicana Las Vegas in 2022, and won licenses for casinos in Chicago and New York. He has spearheaded a partnership with Intralot for iGaming and a planned baseball stadium development on the Tropicana site in Las Vegas.
In 2021, Kim was awarded the American Executive of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards, recognizing his transformative impact on the gaming industry.
