Steven Scheinthal

Steven L. Scheinthal serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Fertitta Entertainment, LLC, the privately held hospitality, gaming, restaurant, and entertainment conglomerate controlled by billionaire Tilman Fertitta. He has been the company’s top legal officer for more than two decades, originally joining Landry’s (now a division of Fertitta Entertainment) in 1998 as Vice President and General Counsel.

Before entering corporate practice, Scheinthal was an attorney at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston, where he focused on corporate and securities law. He has been described as Tilman Fertitta’s “go-to lawyer” and has overseen the legal strategy behind Fertitta’s multibillion-dollar growth, including the acquisition and operation of Golden Nugget casinos, the Landry’s restaurant chain, and the recent pursuit of Caesars Entertainment. He regularly appears before state gaming regulators and has received unanimous suitability approvals from the Nevada Gaming Commission for roles related to casino licenses.

In 2026, Scheinthal was awarded the Houston Corporate Counsel Award by Texas Lawbook, recognizing his “unique and challenging job in corporate law.” He also serves as a director of Landcadia Holdings II Inc., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) sponsored by Fertitta.
