Tommaso Astazi

Tommaso Astazi is Policy Director at Blockchain for Europe, the Brussels-based association representing the blockchain sector at EU level. He leads the association’s institutional engagement and advocacy work with European regulators and policymakers, focusing on blockchain and digital-asset policy since 2017.

Before joining Blockchain for Europe, Astazi spent five and a half years at APCO Worldwide in Brussels, where he advanced from intern to consultant. His work there specialized in blockchain policy and EU lobbying for clients in emerging technology sectors. His experience spans the evolution of European crypto-asset regulation, including the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.

Astazi is a recognized speaker at iGaming and emerging-technology conferences, including SiGMA World, AIBC, ETHMilan, European Blockchain Convention, and MERGE Madrid. His conference appearances often address the intersection of blockchain policy, digital assets, and regulatory developments in the European Union.

He holds a strong track record of engaging with EU institutions and has been an active voice in the blockchain policy community since the industry’s early regulatory discussions. His current work at Blockchain for Europe focuses on shaping a supportive regulatory environment for distributed ledger technology and digital assets in Europe.
