William Floydd

William Floydd is a regulatory, disciplinary and sports-law barrister at Kings Chambers who chairs Football Association independent regulatory commissions in betting-rule cases. He is appointed by the FA as an independent legal chair of regulatory commissions hearing FA disciplinary cases.

In July 2020 Floydd chaired the FA regulatory commission that found former Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge in breach of FA betting rules. The commission imposed a six-week ban, with four weeks suspended, after concluding that Sturridge had provided confidential transfer information to his brother.

In May 2023 Floydd chaired the FA independent regulatory commission that banned Brentford striker Ivan Toney for eight months. The ban followed disciplinary findings covering 232 breaches of FA betting rules, making it one of the most prominent betting sanctions in English football.
