History & Founding

IXOPAY was founded in 2014 in Vienna, Austria, by siblings Rene Siegl and Nathalie Siegl. The company traces its roots to IXOLIT, a web development and e-commerce services firm they founded in 2001. Recognizing the growing complexity of managing multiple payment providers, the Siegls launched IXOPAY’s first payment orchestration platform in 2016. A white-label version followed in 2018, and by 2022 the company had established itself as a key player in the global payment orchestration space. Notable partnerships include integrations with Paysafe, Paydoo, Vyne, Fraudio, Payaut, and Fraugster.

IXOPAY’s flagship offering is its enterprise-grade payment orchestration platform, which provides a single API to connect merchants with a global ecosystem of payment service providers, acquirers, and alternative payment methods. Key components include:

- Universal Tokens – A vendor-agnostic tokenization layer that ensures payment data portability and compliance, breaking provider lock-in. - Smart Routing & Cascading – Rules-based transaction routing to optimize success rates and costs, with automatic failover. - AI-Powered Payments Intelligence (Congrify) – Acquired in 2025, this no-code AI engine analyzes payment events to detect anomalies, optimize authorizations, identify fee savings, and provide predictive analytics. - White-Label Gateway – A private-label solution for platform companies, enabling them to process payments under their own brand with minimal development effort. - Aperia Compliance – A compliance solution for payment facilitators and sub-merchants. - Adapter Catalog – Over 500 pre-built connectors to payment providers and acquirers globally.

Recent Developments

In 2025, IXOPAY acquired Congrify, an AI payment intelligence startup, and integrated its technology into the platform. The company added four new development teams and expanded its connector catalog by hundreds of adapters. It was a finalist in the Money Awards (Money20/20) for the Payments Category and in the MPE Awards 2025 for Best Payment Orchestration Solution. In early 2026, Suzanne Rudnitzki was named Interim CEO, succeeding Brady Harris; Jill Willard was appointed CTO; and George Hansen joined as CRO. The platform processed over $171 billion in transactions in 2025 and analyzed 850 million+ payment events through its AI engine.
