History

Station Casinos was incorporated on July 1, 1976, when Frank Fertitta Jr. opened a small casino off the Las Vegas Strip. Renamed Bingo Palace in 1977 and later Palace Station in 1984, the property established a template for affordable, accessible gaming for locals. Frank Fertitta Jr. took the company public as Station Casinos, Inc. in 1993, with his sons Frank Fertitta III and Lorenzo Fertitta assuming leadership. The IPO financed Boulder Station (1994), followed by Texas Station (1995), Sunset Station (1997), and Green Valley Ranch (2001). Acquisitions included Santa Fe Station (2000) and the Fiesta and Reserve properties (2001).
