TGP Europe

History and Founding

TGP Europe was established in 2014 with its registered office at 22A Castle Street, Douglas, Isle of Man. The company operates under the regulatory oversight of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission and, until May 2025, was also licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Its core business is the provision of a white-label online gambling platform, where TGP Europe holds the gambling licence, negotiates supplier agreements, and provides technology and operational support while partner brands focus on marketing and player acquisition.

Business Model and Platform

The company’s platform integrates sports betting, casino games (over 1,000 titles including live dealer from Evolution Gaming), and a proprietary back-office suite for fraud prevention, bonus management, and reporting. TGP Europe’s white-label partners included well-known brands such as 12bet, 96.com, BJ88, DEBET, Duelbits, Fun88, Nova88, SBOTOP, Sportsbetio, TLCbet, and Betvision. Many of these brands formed high-profile sponsorship deals with English Premier League clubs, generating controversy due to gambling’s prominence in football. The sponsorship agreements were often multi-year and included front-of-shirt, sleeve, and training kit placements.

Regulatory Troubles and Exit from UK

TGP Europe’s regulatory troubles began publicly in 2023 when the UKGC fined the company £316,250 after finding it failed to adequately assess money laundering risks in its B2B relationships and had ineffective due diligence policies for white-label agreements. A second, more damaging investigation concluded in 2025, uncovering that TGP Europe had not performed effective due diligence on the ultimate beneficial owners of its partner entities, had not properly scrutinised the source of funds for those business arrangements, and had not sufficiently considered the risk that some third-party activity could be illegal. The Commission imposed a £3.3 million penalty and demanded significant operational improvements. Rather than comply, TGP Europe surrendered its UK licence on 16 May 2025. All 15 of its white-label domains subsequently closed to UK customers, with most posting notices stating they would no longer accept new or existing customers from 8 May 2025 onward.

Impact on Premier League Clubs

The UKGC then contacted five Premier League clubs—AFC Bournemouth, Fulham, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Burnley—warning them that they were promoting unlicensed gambling sites and that club officers could face prosecution. The Commission also took steps to independently verify that geo-blocking measures were effective. As of June 2025, TGP Europe continues to hold its Isle of Man licence, but its UK-facing operations have ceased.
