Zatun was conceived in 2006 while founder Abhinav Chokhavatia worked at Ubisoft Montreal. Recognizing the growing interest in outsourcing to India, he returned home and launched the company in June 2007 as a remote art outsourcing boutique. The studio steadily built a reputation for reliability and high-quality art production, expanding into full-cycle development and original IP creation over the following years. A pivotal milestone was the release of its first proprietary game, The Legend of Vraz, in 2010, which earned industry recognition despite modest financial returns.

In early 2025, Zatun faced the loss of its founder and CEO Abhinav Chokhavatia. The board appointed Shivani Chokhavatia as Chief Executive Officer and Rishi Chokhavatia as Managing Director, preserving the company’s strategic direction. Zatun continues to invest in original IPs and recently announced KartBoardDash™ and Down & Out, signaling a commitment to expanding its own game portfolio alongside client work.
