Altenar named title sponsor for revamped 2026 Gran Fondo Isle of Man

Sportsbook technology provider Altenar has signed on as the title sponsor of the 2026 edition of the Gran Fondo Isle of Man, which returns with a significantly updated format. The two-day cycling festival, scheduled for July 25–26, will add gravel and cross-country mountain bike events to its traditional programme, alongside participation rides for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

The weekend’s centrepiece remains the 100 km flagship route, which departs from Altenar’s home base of Ramsey and winds across some of the island’s most dramatic terrain before concluding in Port Erin. The expanded off-road offerings reflect the growing global interest in gravel riding and mountain biking, broadening the event’s appeal beyond road cycling.

Altenar, which is headquartered on the Isle of Man, sees the sponsorship as a natural extension of its local engagement. The company already backs the Isle of Man Marathon and Half Marathon, and views the cycling festival as another way to promote active lifestyles while raising the island’s profile internationally.

Since its inception, Gran Fondo Isle of Man has attracted more than 8,000 riders from countries including Japan, Australia, South Africa and the United States, earning recognition as one of the leading participation cycling events in the British Isles. The 2026 edition aims to build on that legacy by offering a varied weekend experience that showcases the island’s outstanding natural environment.
