Bally's Launches Bally Bet and MONOPOLY Casino in Alberta's Newly Regulated Market

2026-08-07

Bally's Corporation has launched Bally Bet Sportsbook and Casino and MONOPOLY Casino in Alberta, the second Canadian province to open a regulated online gaming market. The two brands were among 26 approved operators at the province's July 13 market go-live.

Bally Bet and MONOPOLY Casino go live

Bally's Corporation has entered Alberta's newly regulated online gaming market with the launch of Bally Bet Sportsbook and Casino, alongside the debut of MONOPOLY Casino. Alberta becomes the second Canadian province to open a competitive online casino and sports betting market, following Ontario's April 2022 launch. The Bally Bet platform combines a mobile sportsbook with slots, table games, and live dealer titles, all accessible through a unified player wallet that lets customers move between products while earning rewards. Bally's said the offering draws on more than 90 years of casino operations.

MONOPOLY Casino, available on web and mobile, brings officially licensed slots and table games inspired by the board game to Alberta, operating under Bally's exclusive global consumer license agreement with Hasbro. The brand, launched in 2016, is available exclusively through Bally's, which acquired its former parent company, Gamesys, and it is also live in Ontario's online casino market. Bally's itself owns 20 land-based casino locations across 11 U.S. states.

Alberta's regulated market takes shape

Both new offerings have been listed on the Alberta iGaming Corporation's operator list, bringing the province's approved operator count to 26. Approvals were granted ahead of Alberta's July 13 market launch, and both brands accepted player pre-registration before going live. They join a roster that includes bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars, and theScore Bet, among other licensed operators.

Ontario's experience offers a sense of the market's potential. In the 12 months from April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026, Ontario's iGaming market generated more than CAD 4.2 billion in revenue from over CAD 103 billion in wagers.

Responsible gaming and availability

Sina Miri, chief commercial officer of Bally's Interactive, said Alberta's long-standing casino culture makes the province a natural fit, adding that the company's focus is on "delivering a high-quality entertainment experience while promoting responsible play." Bally Bet includes responsible-gaming tools such as deposit limits, session reminders, and reality checks, maintains Responsible Gambling Council RG Check accreditation, and participates in Alberta's centralized self-exclusion program under standards set by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission. Play is restricted to eligible players aged 19 and older who are physically located in Alberta, with the apps available via the Apple App Store and Google Play and online access at BallyBet.ca.
