Buenos Aires Lottery Teams Up with City Education Unit on Youth Gambling Prevention

2026-07-16

Buenos Aires' Lotería de la Ciudad has signed an agreement with the city's education agency to provide responsible gambling training and awareness programs for youth, including free technical courses and workshops.

Lotería de la Ciudad has entered into a new agreement with the Future Skills Agency (DGAHPEF), a division of Buenos Aires' Ministry of Education, to jointly deliver responsible gambling education and free technical training to young people. The partnership will offer courses in programming, artificial intelligence, and skilled trades alongside awareness initiatives.

The memorandum was signed by lottery president Jesús Acevedo, secretary general Eva Frontera, deputy manager for responsible gaming Antonella Bottinelli, and DGAHPEF director general Gustavo Fabián Álvarez.

According to the operator, the collaboration aims to promote healthy habits and highlight the risks of problem gambling. Planned activities include a masterclass led by Nicolás "Cayetano" Cajg, a speaker from the "Hablar es Ganar" campaign, and workshops focused on problematic consumption, safe digital practices, and online betting prevention for both young people and adults enrolled in the agency's training programs.

This initiative builds on Lotería de la Ciudad's existing work with other city government bodies on education and prevention. The lottery said the agreement extends its awareness programs to a wider audience, particularly young people and adults receiving vocational training.

The move follows a recent responsible gambling push by public operators in the region. In June, the Buenos Aires Province Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) launched the "During the World Cup, activate the alerts" campaign to address youth gambling and encourage use of licensed platforms ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lotería de la Ciudad continues to strengthen its outreach through cross-agency partnerships.
