Cheonjae Textbook Teams Up with Police to Curb Youth Gambling and Drug Use

Cheonjae Textbook has entered a partnership with the Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul to launch educational campaigns aimed at shielding young people from gambling and drug-related harm. The agreement was signed by CEO Park Jeong-gwa and Police Chief Lee Myung-won at the station.

Under the deal, the company will embed prevention advertisements into its study guides for elementary, middle, and high school students. Messages will also appear on the official Cheonjae Textbook website, ensuring direct exposure among students using its learning materials.

The initiative responds to rising concern in South Korea over minors' exposure to illegal online gambling and narcotics. By integrating warnings into everyday educational resources, the campaign seeks to help students recognize risky behavior and avoid escalation.

Park stated that the company intends to collaborate with law enforcement to spread awareness across multiple platforms, and both sides expect to continue related activities under the agreement.

This announcement follows a separate prevention effort this week involving iM Securities CEO Park Tae-dong, who joined a relay campaign organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. That effort calls on businesses, financial institutions, and public organizations to promote the message that illegal online gambling targeting young people is a crime that cannot be won. Participants nominate the next participant after sharing the warning.

Both campaigns are part of a broader South Korean strategy that blends enforcement with education and community outreach to address youth cyber gambling.
