Kambi's Turnkey Network Surpasses 100 Million Bets During 2026 World Cup as AI Drives Shift to Higher-Margin Products

2026-07-16

Kambi's Turnkey Sportsbook partners exceeded 100 million bets during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, driven by an AI-powered shift toward player props and Bet Builder markets. Pre-match Bet Builder turnover rose 3.6x and live Bet Builder turnover increased 10x compared to 2022, helping Kambi sustain strong margins despite challenging tournament results.

Kambi has announced that its global Turnkey Sportsbook partners have placed over 100 million bets during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a milestone reached before the tournament's final match. The data, drawn from 102 of 104 games, reveals a pronounced shift in player behavior toward higher-margin offerings such as player props and Bet Builder combinations, reducing reliance on traditional match-winner markets.

Bet Builder and Player Props Surge

Compared to the 2022 World Cup, pre-match Bet Builder turnover on Kambi's platform increased 3.6 times, while the average number of selections per Bet Builder rose from 2.9 to 3.5. The player shots on target market emerged as the top pre-match Bet Builder offer by turnover, generating twice the turnover of the match winner market. The share of pre-match turnover from bets other than match winner grew from 57% to 63%. In live betting, Bet Builder turnover jumped tenfold, and player shots on target became the most popular live bet, accounting for 15% of all live turnover. The semi-finals alone saw more than 700,000 unique Bet Builder combinations placed on each game.

AI Trading and Tournament Performance

This World Cup marked the first time Kambi's proprietary AI trading system fully compiled and traded all bet offers across both pre-match and in-play markets. The algorithmic capability enabled broader and deeper offerings, reduced suspension times, lower live delays, and enhanced uptime. Despite a tournament where top-four seeds reached the semi-finals and leading strikers frequently scored—conditions that often challenge bookmakers—Kambi sustained a strong tournament margin, supported by the shift toward complex, recreational play.

CEO Werner Becher commented: "Surpassing 100 million bets before the final demonstrates both the scale of our network and the progress we are making in sportsbook innovation." He added that the AI-powered capabilities have driven stronger product performance and greater engagement with player props and Bet Builder, allowing Kambi to continue performing strongly even when results have not always favoured some bookmakers.

Broader Network Impact

Kambi's geographically diversified partner network drove betting volume across a wider range of markets and time zones while spreading risk and liabilities. The expanded tournament delivered increased turnover potential, and Kambi also reported exceeding average turnover per match and a rise in average stake compared to 2022, with the final two matches still to be played. The 100 million bet milestone applies exclusively to Kambi's Turnkey Sportsbook and excludes bets placed through its Odds Feed+ product.

Upcoming Report

Kambi will publish its Q2 2026 Report on 22 July, where it will share further World Cup insights and detailed sportsbook product performance. A webcast presentation for analysts, investors, and media is scheduled for 10:00 CEST that day.
