QTech Games Backs SPiCE Southeast Asia 2026 as Bangkok Summit Nears

2026-07-16

QTech Games has been announced as a sponsor of SPiCE Southeast Asia 2026, taking place August 5-7 at The Landmark Bangkok, and has shared insights on mobile-first player behaviour, platform engineering for low-bandwidth markets, and its regional expansion plans including pending Philippine accreditation.

QTech Games has signed on as a sponsor for SPiCE Southeast Asia 2026, scheduled for August 5–7 at The Landmark Bangkok in Thailand. The conference, now just weeks away, will gather regulators, operators, technology firms and investors from across the region for three days of sessions on regulation, compliance, artificial intelligence and workforce strategy.

Event Agenda and Awards

The opening day on August 5 features the SPiCE Breaker Welcoming Evening alongside the SPiCE Southeast Asia Eventus Awards ceremony, which will recognise standout performers in the regional gaming industry. Day two is devoted to regulation, compliance and operational infrastructure, while the final day turns to strategy, AI and talent development. Organisers report that a limited number of sponsorship and exhibition packages remain available, and nominations for the awards are still open.

Insights from the Sponsor

A QTech Games representative, previewing the topics likely to surface at the summit, pointed to the industry’s shift from desktop to mobile as the most significant behavioural change over the past decade. “Ten years ago, we optimised for mobile; today, in most of our core markets, the player has never known anything else,” the company said, noting that shorter session lengths, instant loading on mid-range devices and a move to local wallets followed. On player engagement, the firm highlighted the growing importance of shared experiences, such as live formats, crash games with visible communal play, tournaments and leaderboards. Its aggregation strategy, supported by the QTech Play recommendation engine, now prioritises suppliers with strong live, multiplayer and social mechanics, “because entertainment in our markets is something players do together, not alone.”

Engineering for Emerging Markets

QTech Games detailed its technical approach to platform performance, stating that it engineers for the worst network conditions rather than the best. This means lightweight clients, aggressive caching, adaptive asset delivery and regional infrastructure to keep latency low globally. Device fragmentation is addressed through rigorous testing on the low- and mid-tier Android devices common in its core markets. “A game that performs beautifully on fibre in Europe but stutters on 3G in a secondary city has failed our players,” the company said.

Cross-Border Expansion and Regional Priorities

Discussing its commercial model, the aggregator described a “one integration, every market” approach, abstracting local complexity—currencies, payment methods, regulatory content requirements and language—behind a single API. “Combined with our respective regional teams’ market knowledge, and a commercial model designed to reduce operator overhead, we effectively become the operator’s localisation layer,” the company explained, claiming this can cut market entry from six months to six weeks.

Looking ahead, QTech Games emphasised that Southeast Asia remains central to its growth. Immediate priorities include deepening operator partnerships in the region, expanding the QTech Hybrid product—which bridges retail and digital and recently earned Innovation of the Year at SPiCE South Asia—and scaling QTech Play’s personalisation across its network. The company also said it is awaiting final accreditation from the regulator for the licensed market in the Philippines, which it expects will contribute significant growth.

QTech Games will be present at The Landmark Bangkok throughout the event, offering attendees direct access to its team. Organisers encourage early registration to guarantee a seat.
