Tabcorp has formally appointed Vivian Stewart as a Non-Executive Director after securing all regulatory approvals. The technology and telecom board veteran joins key committees and brings extensive experience in M&A, governance, and risk management.
Vivian Stewart has officially taken a Non-Executive Director seat on Tabcorp's board, with the company confirming that all necessary regulatory clearances were received. His appointment took effect on 7 August. Stewart had previously been in a Board Observer role since 1 November 2025, following the announcement of his nomination in October last year. He has also been appointed to the Risk, Compliance and Sustainability Committee and the Nomination Committee.
Stewart brings more than 17 years of board-level experience at listed companies, much of it in technology and telecommunications. His expertise covers corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, governance, risk management and operations.
Alongside his new Tabcorp duties, Stewart serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at ASX-listed Superloop, where he chairs the Risk and Compliance Committee and holds positions on multiple other board panels. Earlier, he spent eight years on the Superloop-acquired BigAir Group's board and became its chairman before the deal closed in 2016.
His most recent operating role was Chief Operating Officer at enterprise software firm Bigtincan, with responsibility spanning M&A, investor relations, legal affairs and capital markets. Over roughly six years there, he orchestrated more than 15 deals across Australia, North America and Europe, ahead of the company's transition to private ownership in 2025.
Before that, Stewart founded advisory firm Callafin and helped establish several investment vehicles, including Sydney Angels and venture capital sidecar funds aimed at early-stage companies. He also co-founded Australian ISP Magna Data, acquired by Davnet in 1999, and previously held a regional marketing role at Intel in Hong Kong.
The appointment is part of Tabcorp's broader effort to strengthen board expertise in governance, compliance and corporate transactions. Stewart's background in risk oversight, strategic growth and public company leadership is expected to support the operator's governance framework as it continues operating in Australia's tightly regulated wagering and gaming market.
